Dataset: KVU2005

Abstract

This study is conducted as a part of a larger study on the effects of the structural reform of the Danish municipalities. It seeks to elucidate issues relating to how the voter perceives changes in municipal structures and local politics in general.  

The data has been collected by Epinion from November 2005 till January 2006 and covers a wide range of topics parallel to some of the other local election surveys:  
· Evaluation of the local election campaign  
· Local democracy and political responsiveness  
· Satisfaction with municipal service and tax level  
· Political knowledge, interest and activity  
· Political affiliation  
· Voting behavior  
· Attitudes toward political issues  
· Sources of information  
· Attitudes toward the structural reform and expectations toward new municipalities  
· Social biography  

The questions concerning attitudes toward the structural reform and expectations toward new municipalities are of cause characteristic for this particular survey. And they contribute to the larger research project on the structural reform of the Danish municipalities.   

The data has been collected by structured interviews of 2011 respondent. The original sample was composed of 3924 respondents, and the response rate is therefore equal to 51.2 %. The sample was stratified in accordance with geographical region and gender. Within each stratum, respondents were randomly selected.
